I Have Been So Neglectful Of My Blog... I'm Sorry

Work has been a PITA and kept me from home far too much, but I did not expect the holidays to keep me away, too. I have been busy selling stuff on eBay (another story, lol) and working, and shopping, and shipping and eating. Oh, yeah, it's the holidays, baby!

Well, I have been bad for a few days, now, and put on 4# to prove it. :-( It was fun (and tasty) but I finally got back on the stick today.

That new wine I posted briefly about on the 16th is Menage a Trois Red. I like the Rose, too. Both are low carb at about 2.5 carbs in 5 ounces. I hardly ever only drink 5 ounces, so that is lovely. LOL. In fact, I just calculated the total carbs in a 750ml bottle. Just a hair over 12 carbs. For the WHOLE BOTTLE. Mind you, a whole 750ml bottle is 25 ounces, which seems like a lot of wine, but is not a lot of beer, in ounce-land. Only two, with a spare ounce. Although not impossible, it's not likely I would drink a whole bottle of wine. Especially with a bit of cheese to go with. My new favorite cheese is Sartori Raspberry BellaVitano. I also like the Espresso and the Merlot varieties, too. OK, so I evidently like both companies' wines and cheese, lol. But I am finding a bit of wine and cheese goes a longer way than a bunch of wheat-containing beer. ;-)

Christmas was nice - on Christmas Eve we went to my MIL's for a delicious dinner (she had to work on Christmas day), and that's where the bad eating got started. I even had *real* Pepsi with my meal. I could not tell you the last time I had real soda. She sent home with us ham, turkey, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, water rolls, pumpkin pie and pumpkin cheesecake. OMG. Then on Christmas day, we went with friends to their parents' for dinner and it was more delicious badness. So the day after Christmas we ate the leftovers from Mom. Yesterday I didn't eat terribly badly but just ate too much in general, and drank too much wine (happy hour White Zin at the Outback). So this morning, I threw out the leftover water rolls. The rest of the regular food is gone. Except. There is still a piece of cheesecake and some pumpkin pie left. And it's calling my name. :-O If hubby does not want it tonight, I am going to do my best to throw it away. Eat a piece of my Primal Chocolate. Something. Anything but eat it.

I don't even dare check my glucose yet.

So obviously, I still struggle. But I will win. It just may take me longer than the average bear. LOL
